Remains Found Those of Juveniles

The human remains found in a Bakersfield storage shed belong to children, according to the Kern County Sheriff's department.

An anthropological exam was performed on the two skeletons and the remains are of a boy and girl about 11 to 13 years old, according to a coroner's report. They also say the race of the children appears to be white or Hispanic and there was brown hair on one of the skeletons.

The remains are unidentified and the coroner will perform a comprehensive dental exam.

The remains were found last week in containers at a mini storage on Mt. Vernon Avenue near East Brundage Lane. The bodies had been dead for two to four years, posiibly longer, according to the coroner.

Bakersfield police are investigating the case as a homicide.
